Executive Alignment Workshop

1 day on-site workshop for up to 12 participants

What are the things you need to know as a leader before you start to implement Hoshin? What’s the role of the leader in the Hoshin process? What’s the best way to mobilise the organisation? What resources will be required? What should you expect to achieve in the first 90 days? What does good look like when the process is deployed?

The Executive Alignment Workshop will address these and other questions. It will ensure all executives are aligned around the value of the Hoshin process and around the plan to deploy it. It will also ensure that executives understand the mechanics of the process and their role in driving and sustaining it. The workshop also includes a working session to align the executive team around the key breakthroughs they want to make in the next 3 to 5 years.

Piloting Hoshin

More than 50% of Hoshin pilots fail. Typical failure modes during the strategy deployment phase include not being able to stay focused on the critical few breakthroughs, trying to do more than the organisation has the capacity to do and not leveraging catch-ball effectively to engage the right experts in identifying the right actions.

Once in execution, typical failure modes include not establishing an operating rhythm of review and adjustment and not having an effective means to track and drive actions and counter measures.

Breakthrough Partners’ Hoshin Pilot Facilitation service will help stack the deck in your favour. Following our proven Breakthrough Management methodology, our experienced consultants will lead the selected leadership team through the sequence of workshops that make the Hoshin process work and ensure that the thinking remains sharp and the team at all levels remains engaged and aligned.

During this pilot we will ensure that there is an option for nominated team members to gain the knowledge needed to replicate the process in other business units. We will also ensure the necessary systems and tools are established to enable you to scale and sustain the process going forward.

Scaling Hoshin

Experience has taught us that the key to successfully scaling the adoption of Hoshin is effective facilitation of the process.

Each new leadership team that is exposed to the Hoshin process needs to be guided consistently through the cascade and catch-ball process and challenged to think critically about what is to be achieved, who will be accountable for achieving it and how achieving it will be measured.

Planning the sequence of activities needed to deploy Hoshin and aligning these with the existing business timetable is also a key pre-requisite for success.

Certified Hoshin Facilitator Training

4 day training course + 4 hour package of coaching support

Breakthrough Partners’ Certified Hoshin Facilitator Training will arm internal facilitators with both skills, knowledge and tools to guide a leadership team through the “end-to-end” process of Hoshin deployment.

In addition to the classroom training which includes all supporting workshop materials, the course includes 4 additional hours of coaching support which can be provided on a group or individual basis. In addition to the Public course schedule, this training can be provided as an in-house training option for up to 10 participants.

Whilst the adoption of Hoshin can be a game-changer, there are multiple things that can easily derail the process and erode its effectiveness.
